Why Goma?

Refugees from war-ravaged northeast Democratic Republic of Congo flee to nearby Goma—leaving everything behind.

Swollen with the starving, victims of sexual violence, orphans, and abandoned children,
Goma needs help.

Rebellions, genocides, migrations, and violent cross-border interference have left millions dead and millions more homeless over the last few decades. It's been called “Africa’s Great War”—and Goma is right in the middle of it.

Centre Medical Maman Clementine was founded by a family—Stany and Mariam Muhindo along with Stany’s sister Clementine and her husband Masudi—who experienced terrible loss and were forced to flee the violence in Goma.
